RENT'S DUE

My landlord makes $21,600 a year off a duplex he bought in 2003...

The paint is peeling off the outside panels and I have single pane windows in my bedroom, but at least I live in a walkable neighborhood. The $905 dollars a month seems worth it to be this close to Trader Joe's. Still, I wonder if there is mold in the walls because I discovered a roof leak when I first moved in and it took a month to get it fixed. I've had a long history of housing instability during my life. During my 29 years of life, I have moved approximately 17 times, including a 6-month voluntary stint of living out of my car. I have been drawn to housing work for some time because stable housing has always felt like a luxury to me. My belongings never quite find their permenant spots on the walls because I know deep down that none of this is permenant, and I will likely move again soon. United Tenants of Tulsa
